Only if the humans knew that hovering just above them, hidden by clouds are the god isles, home to all creatures that are depicted in the stories only living out their daily lives under rule of the Heavens' Seats. The only humans that have seen this place are the sacrificed and cursed...that's if they are saved by the being they are sacrificed to or cursed by.

But just like the humans down on earth, the God Isles are never peaceful; constant fighting between the in-humans lead to deadly consequences not only for the inhabitants of the Isles but also for the humans down on earth. When immortals fight, typhoons, disease, death, famine, and rot are hot on the human's tails.
